Just shut up! |
YomKipur 2008 I love Yom Kippur. It’s always extremely hot, (what we call a sharav), every year on that specific day, which adds just that extra little difficulty to not drinking, but I love everything about it. I love the preparations in the house, I love the preparations I go through with the body and my soul, and I love the knowledge that millions of Jews everywhere are doing more or less the same thing as me in preparing for it. I love the empty, quiet streets, I love the prayers and the melody that break that silence, I love thousands of people in white meeting up after Kol Nidrey to chat about stuff, wishing each other good things. I really, really love it. |

The idiocy of precedence. |
Oct 2008 There is nothing new under the sun(kohelet). If we take that as a life guiding attitude-then the whole idea of precedence looses its value. After all, precedence is nothing more then saying “it’s been done before”. Therefore, I don’t get this whole idea of precedence-not in the court system, not in political system, not in relationships and just no matter where you look-this whole idea of precedence somehow justifying any action to me is inexcusable. |

Heads Up |
Sept 2008 I date a lot. I don’t particularly like it, but since I want to get married I don’t really have a choice. These are certain inalienable truths that came to me with experience. After reading lots of humorless junk on the net, I felt I wanted to give guys heads up on some things that we, women find unattractive. They might sound trivial, petty or even illogical, but then you guys keep complaining on what complicated creatures we are. It is true, we are complicated, so I figure you guys can get all the help you can get. Having a sense of humor will be an asset to reading this. So, here in my opinion are the DONTs: |

Sept 2008 Since I have written already on some of the nonos and big turn offs for women, I think its only appropriate I share with you guys the things we women find as huge, humongous, massive and enormous turnons. Unlike the short list of don’ts, no sense of humor needed for this one because I m not being cynical. I actually believe in every point I m making here and believe with all my heart that if only men knew them-our relationships would be so much easier to handle. |

Shallow infatuation vs Practical love |
Aug 07 First, let me explain that by nature and by convictions I m a very loyal person. I believe that if it’s working-you don’t look around to wish you had another one, you don’t tinker with it, and you put in a lot of effort to upkeep it. Up to few months ago, I never even as much as glanced at what other people have, but then the summer heat came closer. |

Shabat in Sderot-part 1. |
July07 I remember last summer. I remember last summer every day, because it was a direct result of the summer that came before it- the summer of “disengagement” or what many of us call “girush (expulsion)”. This summer is a direct result of the last summer, which is a direct result of the summer before it. That’s the circle of life-nothing is “disengaged” or disconnected from an action that preceded it and on political arena, to try to disengage yourself from this circle has a detrimental effect on the whole country. |

Shabat in Sderot-part 2. |

So, I m in Sderot, few hours earlier then I expected. Now what? I decide to drive around the city, after all it doesn’t seem to be that big. I like to “get lost” in new places, driving mindlessly through the streets, taking lefts and rights without a map or a specific direction. In less then 10minutes there is a sign in front me: “Good bye, Go In Peace”. Hmm, I guess the city is as small as I thought it was. |

The Glance |

July 26th ,2006 “Amihi-three thirty-not final but Roi, six pm in Jerusalem is final” the secretary told me on the phone, for some reason using airport terminology. Ok, I thought to myself, trying to plan a time-line, if it will start on time, I may just make it to Jerusalem as well. I was trying to plan a time line for the worst occasion there is. Funerals of those I knew. |
